Dr. Jim Toner is a board-certified fertility doctor working at Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine (ACRM). He particularly specializes in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Toner has been at ACRM for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining the center, he he’d worked at the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in Norfolk, VA. His first major success occurred while with the institute. He had so much success there. The institute promoted him director of the Fellowship Program and its Third Party Reproduction Program. This made ACRM take notice of him when it needed directorship of its Third-Party Reproduction Program in 2000.
Dr. Toner’s many research contributions have made him a prominent fertility doctor. He’s helped make strides in the fertility research field over the course of his long career. He has published over 100 abstracts, 80 articles, and 20 chapters, all containing information about reproductive medicine. Those who follow the fertility field closely will know much of his work contains evaluations of ovarian reserve and its impact on fertility. Dr. Jim Toner has been the recipient of multiple awards for his high-quality work. He’s been a recipient of the “First Prize Paper” on more than one occasion. The award is given out during the profession’s national meetings.
Dr. Toner possesses a B.S. in Psychology from St. Joseph’s College in Philadelphia. In addition, he attended the University of Pennsylvania’s Medical Scientist Training program, where he received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. Soon after graduating he was offered a residency and fellowship training spot at the Jones Institute. He excelled as a resident and stood out because of his gift at teaching, later being named Resident of the Year.
Dr. Toner’s background in psychology helps him connect with his patients on an emotional level. Many of his patients become depressed because of infertility or recurrent miscarriage. He specializes in the treatment of both.
